It’s been a busy winter for sure. I’ve been hard at work building out a more fixed home studio, learning the ins and outs of audio production, and working up a few more singles. The first of these is going to be a multi-instrumental arrangement of a song I haven’t released online yet. In the meantime, check these out from 2025:
My spring calendar starts with two gigs in April:
If you’re not on my mailing list yet, please drop me a line, I’d love to keep you apprised.
More and more, it seems like updates on social media are getting buried. So what’s a millennial who’s looking to get “back to basics” to do? That’s right – a good old-fashioned e-mail list. I send my dispatches monthly or bi-monthly, depending on when new information comes in. I include performance dates, stuff I’m working on, and whatever else is relevant. Drop me a message at patrick.kozub.music@gmail.com if you’d like to join.
I’ll be one of the performers at the charity concert for Mount Airy Disaster Relief Fund Saturday February 28 6:30-9pm at Liquidity Aleworks. The full lineup includes Brenden Bosmans, Lauren Hill, Bill Hall, Greg Montgomery, Ed Haser, Bekah Rogers, Scott Barrett, Rick Coleman, and Dave Koronet.
I broke a lot of new ground as a musician in 2025. I played twenty public gigs (and one private!), a few festivals, hosted several open mics and showcases, and busked at every chance I could. I found chances to play in several cities and countries, including the place I call my hometown, Bloomington, IN. Plenty of bluegrass jams, too – including one impromptu session in downtown Bloomington.
I wrote tons of songs, and many of those songs made it into my acts. Some I’ve been working up for more “official releases” to join the three singles I released this year. Which reminds me: “Same Old Vice” is now streaming on music platforms. It’s a bit more fast-paced and the guitar is denser, which meant I had to work up to where it is at 240bpm. Find it where you usually listen, including Bandcamp.
In addition to thinking more about the arrangements, I’ve been learning about capturing clean sound and built out a couple spaces in the house to facilitate that. In all three releases this year, you’ll hear stereo-mic’d guitars and vocals captured on the tried and trusty AT4047. It was professionally mixed and mastered, and in the new year I hope to do more of that myself.
Last but not least, I was honored to show up in two publications – I was interviewed by Todd Walker for his podcast Wispy Mop Music Acoustic (link) and featured in Vicki Morrison-Goble’s Songwriter Safari (link).
Looking ahead to 2026, there are already a couple dates on the books for the coming year. I’ll be working on more, and I hope to see you there!
I’ll be playing my first Virginia gig at Mudhouse Specialty Coffee Roasters in Richmond, VA on Sat, Nov 29th. Drop in for a coffee if you’re in the area!

Frederick Cool Kids is a nonprofit that provides fun and meaningful activities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Frederick, MD area.
I’m really excited to participate alongside Plaid the Buffalo, Andrew Tyler, and Kolby James. We hope you’ll join us for what’s sure to be a fun evening. If you can bring $10 for a donation at the door, it’ll help the organization build a brick-and-mortar club house! There will also be a silent auction where proceeds to benefit the same.
The show runs 6-10PM on Nov 14th at Sandbox Brewhouse in Frederick, MD.
I’m breaking some new ground and branching out a little, along with a couple shows closer to home. Hope to see you there!

We took a nice trip to Australia. As you might guess, the jetlag was brutal, but it’s a pretty country with friendly folks, and well worth the journey. It was great to take some time off to explore, but I was also glad to get a chance to play in front of some different audiences.
There’s an excellent open mic at The MoshPit in Erskineville (a suburb of Sydney), and we were able to e-mail ahead of time to get a spot. We got there a little early, but it wasn’t long before the room filled up.

I’ve been using busking as a chance to practice in front of audiences lately, and Sydney’s policy is pretty straightforward: you go sign up for a card and they give you some ideas for good places and also where is off-limits. I chose a couple spots – on the downtown mall area, as well as on a walkway/bridge.
I wish I had a video of the seagulls diving at my face while I was playing at Manly Beach. I thank them for the chance to keep tempo while dealing with distractions, feathery or otherwise.
