“A restless musical spirit”
‐Vicki Morrison Goble, Songwriter Safari, “'The Good Parts' by Patrick Kozub”
I’ll be playing my first Virginia gig at Mudhouse Specialty Coffee Roasters in Richmond, VA on Sat, Nov 29th. Drop in for a coffee if you’re in the area!

Frederick Cool Kids is a nonprofit that provides fun and meaningful activities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Frederick, MD area.
I’m really excited to participate alongside Plaid the Buffalo, Andrew Tyler, and Kolby James. We hope you’ll join us for what’s sure to be a fun evening. If you can bring $10 for a donation at the door, it’ll help the organization build a brick-and-mortar club house! There will also be a silent auction where proceeds to benefit the same.
The show runs 6-10PM on Nov 14th at Sandbox Brewhouse in Frederick, MD.
I’m breaking some new ground and branching out a little, along with a couple shows closer to home. Hope to see you there!

We took a nice trip to Australia. As you might guess, the jetlag was brutal, but it’s a pretty country with friendly folks, and well worth the journey. It was great to take some time off to explore, but I was also glad to get a chance to play in front of some different audiences.
There’s an excellent open mic at The MoshPit in Erskineville (a suburb of Sydney), and we were able to e-mail ahead of time to get a spot. We got there a little early, but it wasn’t long before the room filled up.

I’ve been using busking as a chance to practice in front of audiences lately, and Sydney’s policy is pretty straightforward: you go sign up for a card and they give you some ideas for good places and also where is off-limits. I chose a couple spots – on the downtown mall area, as well as on a walkway/bridge.
I wish I had a video of the seagulls diving at my face while I was playing at Manly Beach. I thank them for the chance to keep tempo while dealing with distractions, feathery or otherwise.

I’m looking forward to being back at Elk Run Vineyards again from 2-5p on Saturday, September 13th!

We’ve been looking forward to August 6th for more than a while now. If you haven’t been to Sandbox Brewhouse in Frederick, MD, you’re missing out on a seriously cool and intimate venue with a wide range of entertaining activities – including ours! We’ll be hosting a showcase and open mic from 5-9p (open mic is at 8), so not only can you hear some cool folks play their own music, you can also share some of yours, too!

I made some great friends last year at Play Music on the Porch day. It was a lovely way to round off the summer – both in playing some of my own music, but also getting to know some of the local talent. Come join us on August 30th!

Lots of good things happened in July. We had an excellent showcase at Elk Run Winery and were really touched to see so many of our friends turning up. I played a private gig and had a great time heading back to Indiana for a few days. There was a little impromptu busking on Kirkwood Ave, and for an hour at the Bloomington Farmers’ Market. We hit the gym afterwards and earned our square donuts. Even got to hit a couple bluegrass jams here in Maryland.

We’re putting together some great shows this coming weekend:
August 1: Showcase at Rockwell Brewery, 7-10PM
We’ll have Damion Wolfe, Will Sims, Brady Earnhart, Patrick Kozub, Brenden Bosmans, and Andrew Tyler. I’m also told we have some special guests accompanying at least one of our performers. The beer at Rockwell is gonna be nice and cold, and I can’t wait for another one of those burgers.
August 2nd at Elk Run with Special Guest Brady Earnhart, 2-5PM
Brady’s going to play a set at my Saturday show. I’ve now had the great luck to play here twice, and the scenery is a nice escape, whether it’s a sunny afternoon or for a golden hour glass of wine. We hope you’ll come hang out with us!
FRIDAY NIGHT the 18th of July – myself and local artists Lauren Hill, Mike French, and Brenden Bosmans will be performing at Elk Run. This is gonna be a gorgeous night nestled among the sprawling vineyard. We hope you’ll join us for some outstanding wine and maybe even share a couple songs of your own!

SkyStage is a really cool venue in downtown Frederick, and I’ll be a part of F.A.M.E.‘s showcase on June 27th. Come out and join us – donations to support F.A.M.E. will be accepted at the door, but this is otherwise a free event. Ed Haser, JosuĂ© Lopez, RJ Wayne, and myself will be performing.
