I specialize in teaching rhythm guitar, which will give you a strong foundation to play in any genre. Whatever your goals, and whether you’re just getting started or you already know a few chords, I can help you along your journey.

I strive to make lessons fun but focused. My aim is to get you playing songs as quickly as possible while building usable skills from the ground up. I’ll help you break down trouble spots into actionable habits you can work on between lessons.

I’m a regular performer and singer/songwriter and have prior teaching experience. I can help you get strumming in any genre. We’ll work together on:

My curriculum is built around getting you up and playing songs as quickly as possible. Some things we can work on include:

• Developing a solid sense of rhythm
• The basics of chords, and the minimum theory you’ll want to know
• Singing and playing
• Good practice habits and working with metronomes

For students who have a solid grasp of the basics, we can work on:

• Bass runs and other cool details
• Creating feeling with dynamics and different grooves
• Movable chord shapes and modifications to chords (suspended, 7th, major 7th, etc)
• Scales and finding melodies by ear

Most of my teaching experience is with adults, but I’m comfortable working with students of all ages. I teach both in-person in my home studio and over Zoom. I love seeing my students grow and pride myself on creating a learning environment that’s both safe and welcoming.
